Dr. Sandy Strohecker Beckett worked as a dental hygienist for eight years before becoming an orthodontist. She grew up with orthodontics, as she is Dr. Strohecker's daughter. After graduating from Germantown Academy, Dr. Beckett spent two years at Ursinus College and two years at Thomas Jefferson University where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene and Education. Dr. Beckett spent the next eight years practicing as a Dental Hygienist in Camp Hill and teaching Oral Hygiene in the public school system of Harrisburg. Having decided on a career change, she went on to Dental School at the University of Maryland to obtain her DDS. After graduating from dental school, she went on to study orthodontics for two years at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine in The Post Doctoral Orthodontic Program where she was awarded her Orthodontic Specialty Certification in June of 1999. “I gained a lot of insight into orthodontics from both sides of the chair before making orthodontics my career. Orthodontics, however, is a science that constantly advances. That’s why even after practicing since 1999, I will never consider my education complete.”
Her membership in professional organization and continuing education courses enable her to provide our patients with the most up-to-date care available. A member of the American Association of Orthodontics, she is also a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Society, Middle Atlantic Orthodontic Society, and Montgomery-Bucks Dental Society.
Sandy has been married for twenty-three years to Kelly Beckett, and they reside in Horsham with their Yellow Lab, Bentley, their pride and joy!
Dr. Leon Strohecker is a board-certified orthodontist., and his practice has been in existence since 1961. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry, he graduated first in his class from both Dental School and a two-year orthodontic specialty course at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Medicine. He is Board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management. He built his reputation by setting the standard for leading-edge orthodontic care and patient comfort. His motto has always been, “Patients come first here at Strohecker Orthodontics.”Continually involved in orthodontic research and study, he has lectured internationally in all phases of orthodontics and TMJ dysfunction therapy. Dr. Strohecker's first love is his family, two children and three grandchildren, but he has dedicated his life to helping others through his orthodontic practice. Dr. Strohecker's hobbies include tennis and a massive collection of "collectibles" including his wide array of Disney art and memorabilia, much of which is on display in the office for your enjoyment.
